Inspired by the sacred pilgrimages I have experienced, this piece translates moments of devotion, stillness, and spiritual connection into an interactive object. Created as a way to share emotions that often feel beyond words, the engraved red box draws from symbols encountered along these journeys—temple bells, the trishul, the flowing Ganges River, the mountains surrounding Kedarnath Temple, and the architecture of sacred spaces. Inside, an envelope holds prashad—mishri (rock sugar), traditionally shared after prayer at Vaishno Devi Temple. By opening the box, unfolding the envelope, and tasting the offering, viewers are invited to momentarily participate in a ritual where sweetness carries faith.
